Gearing up for Testing

With only 5 weeks of instruction left before testing we will be focusing our observations on bell to bell instruction. In some classes we have observed students being asked to copy down notes from the board. To help with this we will be increasing the copy quota by 500 additional copies each month so that these items can be printed for students. We would like to see students engaging with materials in the most meaningful matter possible. Similarly, all technology will be collected by the end of the month so systems can be updated and cleaned up in preparation for May 1, our first day of SBAC testing.

School Review

Beginning March 27 our school will participate in a School Review held in conjunction with the Partnership for Los Angeles Schools and officials from LAUSD. The purpose of the review is two-fold; the first part is to help validate all of our hard work and success. The second purpose is to help our school reflect and determine next steps. The review will begin with stakeholder interviews on March 27 from 12:30 pm- 3:00 pm.

On March 28, classrooms will be visited to serve as an additional data point to inform the work of the review team. At the end of the visit, we will receive a report with a series of commendations and recommendations. We will share out the report as soon as we receive it.
